How Engaging Churches Are Reaching More People for Christ
Every step between “far from Christ” and “face to face with Jesus” is a moment we can steward or lose.
A friend asked what drives us most after 20+ years of serving churches. The answer came down to one word: engagement.
A friend of mine recently asked me, “You’ve served churches for more than 20 years, helping senior leaders clarify and fulfill their God-given vision. What’s the one thing that drives you more than anything right now?”
I said, “The thing that’s been on my heart is engagement.”
If we can improve engagement at every step of the journey, from someone who’s far from Christ to someone coming face to face with Jesus, we can steward those moments. We can increase the likelihood that people find an on-ramp into the knowledge of God.
So as a firm, our focus has shifted. How do we walk alongside church leaders, literally carrying the weight, so that more people come to the saving knowledge of Christ?
I want a church to have engaging social media. I want it to have an engaging website. I want that website to lead people to an on-campus experience that’s so engaging that by the time they get out of their car, they’re excited about what they’re walking into.
I want them to walk into a lobby that’s completely engaging, where they meet friends. I want them to experience engaging worship and hear an engaging message. And then I want them to be given next steps that help them grow into what God has called them to.
That’s what Engagement Group is all about. If we can help the gospel become more engaged in people’s lives, we’ll fulfill our purpose.
To every church leader out there: thank you. Thank you for what you do for the King and the kingdom. Together, let’s be more engaging to reach people for Christ.
